Wells of Life
Every day, more than 6,000 people...mostly children, die from drinking water that is polluted or carries deadly diseases. Water-related diseases, including cholera, typhoid, dysentery, and guinea worm, kill more than 5 million people every year.
Freshwater wells are the primary water source for countless villages and rural communities throughout Africa. While some villages have freshwater wells, many people...mostly children, have to walk and carry their water 2-3 miles several times a day.
